About us
GlassLoop is a pilot project to demonstrate how to 'close the loop' on post-consumer glass in Malaysia.
GlassLoop is supported by multiple users of glass and operated by Lasaju Consulting Sdn Bhd.

Many of our favorite sauces and drinks are best packaged, stored and transported in glass. Malaysia has existing glass processing facilities to recycle (i.e. smelt) glass over and over again.

But currently Malaysia does not have a widely available collection system for post-consumer glass. We plan to 'close this loop' and make post-consumer glass bottles and jars a truly circular packaging material.
Why recycle glass?
01
Reduce landfill waste
Glass does not decompose in landfills and takes up valuable space. Recycling significantly reduces the amount of glass waste that ends up in landfills.
02
Conserve natural resources
Glass production requires raw materials like sand, soda ash, and limestone. Recycling glass reduces the need for these virgin materials preserving natural habitats.
03
Reduce greenhouse gas emissions and energy consumption
Recycling glass consumes 25 to 40% less energy compared to producing glass from virgin raw materials. This significantly reduces the need for fossil fuels and thus greenhouse gas emissions.
